Nestled in the heart of the Otway Ranges, the tiny timber town of Beech Forest was first settled by Europeans in 1883. It’s rumoured that the first hotel was built using the timber of just one mountain ash tree.
Later it was made famous by a shuffling marathon runner by the name of Cliff Young.
